Every year we prepare our homes for Pesach, the festival of freedom, and celebrate the deliverance of our ancestors from slavery in Egypt.
Pesach is traditionally a time for families to get together. The Yeshiva Welfare Fund asks us consider the children who need new clothes bought and the special foods that are required for the Seder. It gives us the opportunity to help those who are in need properly celebrate this much-loved festival. There are many who seek our help. We support them, we advocate for them. Often we clothe and feed them.
Every contribution will help another family conduct the Seder. It may help buy some new clothes for a child. It will, at the least, help ensure that we do not lose sight of the need to care and offer help to those in need.
The Yeshiva Welfare Fund helps us to ensure that some families will have a proper Pesach meal and are able to conduct their Seder with dignity.
During the High Holy days of Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur we, the Jewish People, look deep within ourselves and give thanks to the Almighty for all his blessings.
We reflect on the challenges that the world faces daily and are grateful for the opportunities for peace and fulfilment offered by our wonderful nation, Australia.
There are, however, many among us who find themselves unable to share in these opportunities. Some are not able to buy good, nourishing food for their children. Some cannot afford new clothes. And some are only able to dream of providing an education for their children that might enable the family to break the cycle of despair.
Yeshiva Welfare Appeal gives hope where possible to those among us who cry out for it. It allows the more fortunate in our community extend their hands with generosity and offer support.
Their gifts help families bring in the New Year with dignity and help to ensure that we are able to offer support to those in need.
